After You Volunteer

As a volunteer in a research study, the Informed Consent process does not end once you have agreed and signed the Informed Consent Document.

Your signature means that you as a volunteer understand the kind of research that is being done.

When you come in for study visits, the research staff:

  • may ask you to explain what you remember about the study
  • will ask if you still want to participate in the study
  • will keep you up-to-date about new findings (both positive and negative) while you are in the study.
